Del-Air Heating, Air Conditioning and Plumbing
Review Summary
Del-Air receives mixed reviews. Negative reviews cite:
- Misdiagnosis and inflated pricing: Customers report being told they need expensive replacements (compressors, entire units) when simpler, cheaper fixes were available. Some technicians allegedly misrepresent issues or fail to provide itemized quotes.
- Poor workmanship: Complaints of incorrect ductwork installation leading to significant damage and costly repairs.
- Customer service issues: Unreturned calls, missed appointments, and difficulty getting warranty claims honored.
- Questionable sales tactics: Pressure to leave reviews, and perceived attempts to overcharge or take advantage of customers.
Positive reviews highlight:
- Prompt service: Technicians arrive quickly.
- Honest and efficient service: Some customers report positive experiences with specific technicians (Darren, Jeremy) who provided detailed information and fair pricing.
- Professionalism: Some installers are praised for their work ethic and ability to resolve issues.

Please get a second opinion before trusting what they say. I called them because the AC compressor fan wasn't spinning. They came out promptly when I called them, and after diagnosis, told me I needed a new AC compressor because I had a bad fan motor. Mary had told me replacing the motor could be 3 weeks or 6 months to get parts and would cost $1900 so a full replacement is the best option. I asked for a written quote so I could see the itemized break down and she said she would text it to me. Never received it. I called the next day and asked for the quote and a better explanation of the options, and they sent Darren out. He confirmed what Mary said, showing me voltage readings from the AC compressor and saying it was off. Told me I needed a new AC compressor and indoor air handler, which would be more than $8000 (pricing from 3 years ago). I told him online shows fan parts available for my AC compressor for $150 that's in stock. He told me I had more issues with my unit, dragging his feet to leave, taking apart the air handler to show me the condition of the air handler and said replacing the motor wouldn't work. He also didn't give a quote, and that I needed to make an appointment with another person the next day at 10am, just for a quote! I didn't understand why if he was so knowledgeable, why couldn't he take pictures and measurements to get me a quote instead of wasting more of my time. He then asked if I could leave them a review before he left (which I'm doing now). Unsatisfied with their service, I called another local company that day for a second opinion, and in doing the diagnosis, he was able to get the fan motor running. They said the first company flipped the fuse breaker on the unit to show the readings were off. The cause was actually a faulty electronic board from, funny enough, a lizard who looked for heat and fried the circuit. A new replacement board was $160. After replacing it, the AC unit works nicely.

Del-Air installed my system 5 years ago..... and the ducting work was done completely wrong. I now have a $30,000 bill to replace and fix damages due to their poor quality work. 100% do not recommend. See pictures for proof. Sent my information over to the person who replied........ no answer yet. Will update this if/when I hear something.

Del-Air bought out ARS who had great customer service. This service is horrible with Del-Air. I made an appointment 2 weeks ago for today, which is a Friday between 4pm-6pm. They tried calling and wanting to come out here early but my husband had to take off work and had already scheduled to take off today. When the time window came my husband received a call saying that now after trying to come earlier in the week that the technician couldn’t be here. After multiple calls by us and it being 7pm we are still waiting for someone, I don’t know who to come. This company is the worst.

Since Del Air took over ARS Rescue Rooter it has been a horrible experience. I was paying the monthly membership fee to have my unit maintenanced twice a year. At arrival the technician spent a few minutes inspecting the unit and quoted me 2k to have my coils flushed & cleaned. Like seriously??!! This company sends con men/ rip off artists to your home to create a problem when there isn't one. My ac unit is only 3 yrs old and in pristine condition. They will never get my business anymore and as of today I canceled my membership. Don't trust this company!!!

Called del air in Melbourne as my A/C unit inside was leaking water. They basically looked at it for less then a minute and told me I needed a new unit and quoted me 18k dollars. I live in a smaller house also. Upon further investigation my condensation pump had stopped working and my A/C was fine. That's about a $60 dollar unit maybe that can be installed DIY. Will not be trusting big corporations like this again and will only be doing business with local companies from now on.

I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I have received. Despite purchasing an expensive 10-year warranty, which I expected to provide peace of mind, my claim has not been honored. I’ve made multiple attempts to get in touch with someone from the warranty office for assistance, but I have yet to receive a response. I was told to expect a callback within 24 to 48 hours, but after waiting far beyond that timeframe, no one reached out. In frustration, I had to personally contact a representative’s cell phone to get any form of communication, only to be made to feel as if I was a burden. To add to the frustration, I was initially told that the broken condenser would be covered under the warranty, but it’s been over a month since the issue was diagnosed, and I am still waiting for a resolution. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, and I hope that the company will take the necessary steps to improve both communication and customer service moving forward. It appears by the reviews that warranty work is a consistent concern. Robert

I recently had issues with my AC unit and felt it was on the way out. I had chunks of rusted metal on my filters, the motor sounded like it was crying in pain, the ducts had what looked like mold seeping out. It was a hot mess. I could have gotten it fixed but it was a 15 year old undersized system in Florida and on its way out so I did not want to waste my money or take chances. I called several companies for an estimate on a replacement system. Some didn't bother to return my call (its been hot). With the others I received estimates ranging from $9k to 20k for a 3.5 ton unit. I also needed to move my unit to a different location (away from my dryer vent). The lower estimate was for a brand I would not consider. One company critisized the install of my current unit then looked at the permit and realized it was installed by them. Oops. The highest estimate was for a very similar system. I asked the higher one for a detailed estimate trying to understand why he was so high and he gave me a listing of all the things that come with the unit as if he was doing so much. Smh. This is my third system I needed to buy in my life and specs changed but not that much that I was going to be taken for a ride. I had to do a lot of research! It was evident these companies thought I was a dumb broad. Disgusted, I decided to try one more company. Del -Air was it. I made an appointment and Jeremy came out. He was quick and I didn't think he was going to give me a good estimate because he was so fast. He emailed it right over with a couple of choices and a link with detailed information on each system. I was very happy. I realized the other companies talked my ears off because they were trying to sell me a financial nightmare. Jeremy was very honest and worked with all my questions (I had many). I went with their financing company and got a decent rate. If I pay it off early, no penalty and I can pay towards the principal. Some others charge for that or if you pay off early you still have to pay all the interest they calculated in the beginning. Oh no!! With all that settled they made an appointment for the install and came on time. I didn't have a long wait either. I had Sam and Desmond as my installers. They were professional and man they were working hard in this Florida sun. They did what I think was a good job. I had one minor issue and it was immediately resolved by Dave. I highly recommend Del-Air. My most important rating points are honesty, not trying to take advantage, good customer service, efficiency, professionalism and of course knowledge. 5 stars across the board!! Thanks guys. I really appreciate the great service and I am confident that it will last though time
