J.R. Plumbing charged us for a more expensive model of water heater but then delivered a less expensive model.  This was an overcharge of $1,500.  After our attorney reached out to the owner, John, he agreed to issue a refund, but we were never refunded.  It’s been about a year and they still owe us a refund of $1,500.  In addition, they left the old water heater in our yard, which they were supposed to take away.  The owner also represented to our attorney that they would come back and take the old water heater.  Again, they did not honor this representation, and we had to hire another company to dispose of the old water heater.   As you can imagine, we have serious regrets about using this company.   Read the other negative reviews and seriously consider whether you want to take a chance with this company.

I am truly impressed with JR Plumbing. Rarely do I ever post anything about a company. If you have plumbing issues, please contact them. They are extremely professional and knowledgeable. I am satisfied and will be using them again soon for updates.

Run don't walk away from this company. If I could give -10 stars I would. The plumbing they installed was completely inoperable (see picture below) and had to be ripped out and replaced. We also had to have a structural engineer review ceiling beams that were cut up (again, see the pic with holes around the pipes all the way through the beams). The cuts required frame supports to be installed to shore it up. The owner gave me the run around when I tried to discuss and recover my costs of repairing the damage. He ghosted me when we arranged to meet to go over the costs and next steps. Later he agreed to a rough settlement via text which I allowed him to spread over time but then never sent me docs he promised though he assured me they were on the way. He then stopped responding to my texts inquiring about the docs and our agreement. I normally don't give reviews but in my opinion he is a very deceptive and bad person that should be avoided. My costs have exceeded $10,000.

I am just so frustrated to have to write this review in the first place, but I feel almost obligated to warn others to stay away. John comes off as a very nice man, but if anything goes wrong with your repair he will 100% ghost you or delay indefinitely any resolution. I used John and J.R. Plumbing for a sewer line repair that ended up needing to be fixed, as we discovered that John's repair was leaking sewage underground (it began seeping through the surface). Over something crazy like 2 months John kept dragging his feet on coming out to fix the job he had already "completed". I ended up using another company (Atlantis Plumbing) to re-do the job, with John agreeing to refund me the costs. That refund still hasn't processed and simple requests for information are ignored. Please reach out to me before using John Taylor or J.R. Plumbing.

Please see below for context. This is my response to JR Plumbing's reply to my initial review. Dear JR Plumbing, Your response is deeply disappointing. You did not provide another permit number after the initial incorrect one, despite your claim otherwise. Furthermore, your assertion about having a customer service department is also false. You are liars. This experience has been extremely frustrating, and your continued dishonesty only adds to the disappointment. I do not expect a resolution from your “company” as I am having my water heater changed again as we speak due to your inability to do the work properly.

They worked on our pipes about 1 year ago. They came out in a timely manner, and seemed to do a good job. (The Sheetrock contractor they recommended was horrendous). Fast forward to current time, we had another leak. Our normal handyman was able to come out. We found: 1. He cut out much more Sheetrock than was necessary, costing much more than necessary on that repair. 2. The repair itself was extremely poorly done. 3. Everywhere he tied new pipes to old pipes was leaking. We now have mold issues. DO NOT call this company. They’re good on the surface but the repairs don’t last.

DO NOT USE JR PLUMBING, THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND FRAUDSTERS I hired JR Plumbing on the recommendation of my residential building, a decision I deeply regret. The company replaced my water heater, but the real trouble began when I needed the permit number for inspection. Weeks passed, and I was informed by my building that the permit number provided was for another unit. Despite numerous attempts to contact JR Plumbing, I was continually given the runaround by their receptionist, with promises that someone would get back to me, which never happened. My building management also tried contacting them multiple times but still no response. After months of frustration, I discovered that JR Plumbing had scammed me by using another company's permit number. Because of this, I had to hire another company to inspect the water heater for $450. To make matters worse they informed me that the installation was poorly done, likely failing any legitimate inspection. Ultimately, I had to pay another $950 to have another Plumbing company correctly replace my water heater. JR Plumbing's negligence and fraudulent behavior cost me dearly. Do not trust this company—John (JR) and his team are scammers. I will be pursuing legal action and moving forward with whatever option is in front of me and hold them accountable for their illegal practices. JR and his company are nothing short of con artists, willing to cut corners and deceive their clients for a quick buck. I urge you to avoid JR Plumbing at all costs. They are scammers with zero integrity. Save yourself the trouble and find a reputable company

A bate and switch. Excellent first experience (clearing a clog). After I gave 5 star review and recommend him on NextDoor, THERE WAS A SUBSTANTIAL DECLINE in service quality (your problem was not solved and you paid him) and SUBSTANIAL price increase. ONE EXAMPLE: I agreed to have one outdoor spigot on a separate shut off value - I never got the second shut off value but he very quickly replaced my copper pipe with plastic and took my copper, then replaced my 1956 brass spigot with one that rusted within 3 months and another that rusted faster. For this EXAMPLE, he charged $451. NOW, I'm paying a different plumber top dollar to drive to my and install a spigot that won't rust (and other stuff).
