Waialae Plumbing & Construction
Review Summary
Waialae Plumbing & Construction receives mixed reviews. Positive feedback highlights knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly plumbers (Danny, Warren, Demitry, Mike, Cael, Brian T., Joseph) who provide prompt and professional service, often completing jobs on the same day. Customers appreciate their attention to detail, thoroughness, and clear explanations. Some customers found the company's pricing to be good value.
However, negative reviews cite high prices, particularly for jobs charged by the task, and unsatisfactory service. One customer reported a failed attempt to unclog a pipe, resulting in a high charge for an unsuccessful service and a dismissive response from management. This customer felt the company lacked proper tools (e.g., a camera) and fair pricing.

Danny was amazing! He was very knowledgeable, explained the issues clearly and provided recommendations for us to implement that was in our control as renters. He was also very efficient and got the job done quickly. I was so impressed with his professionalism and would highly recommend him for any plumbing needs. He is knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly.

Five stars for Waialae Plumbing! We had a kitchen faucet that was falling apart, barely working. We contacted Waialae Plumbing, as we heard good things about them. Warren, from Waialae Plumbing and Construction, came and looked at our situation, and had the perfect brushed nickel faucet to replace it with. All done on the same day! He did a great job! Highly recommend Waialae Plumbing and Construction!

We had a few minor plumbing issues to be addressed, and Waialae Plumbing sent a plumber promptly. Demitry took care of everything professionally and efficiently. He was punctual, came prepared (I had asked for a new kitchen faucet, and he had different models to propose), was very respectful, and took the time to do a thorough check to fix frozen valves that needed replacements. The service is good value since everything got taken care of in one visit.

Hi! This is Debbie, TJ's mom. Danny & Mike came out to help me with a leaking solar water panel. Mike gave me a couple of options, & Danny and he worked on my problem immediately. They fixed it so quickly, I'm getting hot water & they helped me with my leaking water hose! They were terrific!! And, Sarah called me to keep me informed about their arrival time; all of them are so friendly and helpful! I cannot say enough nice things about the great service I got from Waialae Plumbing! They solved my problem so quickly! I'm going to be setting up another appointment for another job very soon. Thank you Danny, Mike & Sarah!!

This company was going to charge me $1500 + $203 for a 3 hour job because they charge by the task, plus initial dispatch . The next company finished the job by the hour ( 3 hours) costing $366 only. What a huge difference!!! I had a disappointing experience with Waialae plumbing. I called them to address a water leak behind my washing machine that had soaked the exterior of my apartment. The leak had gone through the walls and into the common area outside. They sent a plumber who was professional, but the service left much to be desired. The initial quote was around $314 to finish the job. The plumber spent an hour attempting to unclog it but could only go 5 feet into the pipe before met resistance. After attempting an hour, they stopped. The snake did not have a camera neither. They informed me that they were unable to resolve the issue, the next step was $470 to open the wall, and then another TBD estimate once they inspect, possibly a $1500 job. Despite the lack of results or diagnosis, they were initially going to charge me around $228 for this job, but ended up charging me $203 after asking for multiple discounts just for the failed attempt. Their cost is $66 for diagnosis initially per phone call. They said I won’t find another plumber with a smaller snake that wont yield same results. Feeling frustrated, I contacted another plumbing company. They arrived promptly, identified the problem (a blockage much farther down the pipe 20 ft + is where the blockage was), and were fully equipped to cut open the wall, access the pipe, and repair it. They completed the entire job in under three hours and charged $122 per hour—far less than what Waialae Company charged for an unsuccessful attempt. I also reached out to Waialae Company’s manager to express my concerns about being overcharged for a failed service. Unfortunately, their response was dismissive, even calling my feedback “ludicrous.” When i brought up the plumbers only were able to snake 5 ft, the manager said the second plumber was able to finish the job because they dislodged the clog for them. Not true. Because at first insert of the snake, it already went past 10ft without any water running since the flood. Both the building manager and the second plumber, building engineer, front desk all, multiple neighbor agreed that $203 for a failed attempt with no diagnosis or resolution was excessive. Overall, I cannot recommend Waialae Company based on my experience. While the plumber they sent was courteous, the service lacked effectiveness, proper tools, and fair pricing. I regret spending money on a service that yielded no results. I guess they’re losing service to this building now since my building manager cannot recommend them. Words do travel fast in big condos. ______________ In response to their response from the manager he lied. $203 is not a 50% discount from $314 that was quoted to finish the job. There was NO result and NO final diagnosis. so stop acting like they did me a huge favor for giving me a discount. It was a complete waste of time and money and secondly, the plumber did NOT advise there was no camera in the beginning. He said the first thing to do is to snake. Being a lay person who never dealt with plumbing, I didn't know without a camera you cannot understand the full obstruction. Hindsight looking back their tools were not comprehensive. If they had a camera, they would've known at 5ft wasn't the true obstruction, therefore the hour spent snaking was just a pure waste of time. Understanding now after opening the wall, their tiny snake was just stuck nowhere near the actual obstruction. When I called to another company, they were going to come with a camera right away and tell me where the obstruction was. Now that is worth a $66 diagnostic fee. Even the building staff said " wow they got you good for $203 on just snaking for 5 ft for an hour and didn't even have a camera". So there you have it. Go look for a company that can finish the job per hour, because a job like this should take 1-3 hours of charge, not $1500. SCAM prices!

Five golden stars for Danny and Cael, who showed up early and put in a long day to replace my water heater! More importantly, they were both meticulous and neat. As a homeowner, I can appreciate their attention to detail and the care they put into their work. Especially as my condo, built in the 90s, has some quirks. Such as the water heater is located in a corner of the kitchen, under a tight crawlspace. It required removing my stove (into the hallway of the condo!), then unscrewing a panel, and then removing another corner of the cabinet! Also, the previous water heater was a fat low boy that took up every square inch so maneuvering it was a nightmare in itself. Still, Danny and Cael were up for the task! They figured out how to remove that weird corner cabinet piece (omg, had to remove a drawer and open another cabinet!) and when it came time to put it back on, they made sure the pieces fit seamlessly together. And, they lugged my stove back into place as well! Also pleased with the back office work to schedule the estimate and the actual day of installation. Danny came out to do the estimate and also helped me with a bathroom faucet issue at the same time and even checked the water shut off valve under the kitchen sink to make sure it worked. And it did, he said "smooth as butter." So, the company might be slightly more expensive than other plumbers but they have a good amount of staff to take calls, schedule appointments, estimates and do the work. I found everyone to be helpful and accommodating, but am most appreciative of the work by Danny and Cael. Also, I was able to use the discount coupon on their website, so yay! Thanks Danny and Cael, you guys rock!

BRIAN T. -- What a Professional! His knowledge of everything that needed to be done (and we had a lot) was exceptional along with his demonstrated expert skills. In no time, my husband and I knew that we had selected the perfect plumbing company to meticulously do the jobs that we needed done. Brian frequently kept us abreast of what he was working on, and that made us feel quite comfortable. Of course I can't leave out Brian T.'s sidekick, Joseph, who did a great job as well. He discovered a leak that had not initially been identified, and repair it. What can I say? A big Mahalo to Brian T., Joseph, and Waialae Plumbing & Construction. You can be very proud of the expertise of Brian T. and Joseph from beginning to end. My husband and I are truly blessed to have you as our forever plumbing company. But wait there's more! We are so impressed and delighted with the finished jobs done today that they'll be back tomorrow to do a different job. Please, if you have plumbing needs, give Waialae Plumbing a call. My husband and I are confident you will be happy customers just like we are.
