Mike K. was extremely kind and helpful. He helped identify my problems and explained them so it was easy for me to understand. He put together a few different options for how to proceed but was not pushy at all. There was also no hidden costs or surprises for extra fees, which I know isnβt the case for all companies. He took his time and I could tell he really wanted whatβs best for me and not trying to get as much money out of me as possible. I really trust Service Legends and they are lucky to have Mike on their team.

The contract with Service Legends in Des Moines, Iowa was for one year. Fall and Spring checks were performed. Our smoke detectors were 10 years old so I requested a price to replace 8 direct wired alarms. The Legacy smoke alarm was suggested at $300 each installed. I was told the current Kiddie ones, which we had, had problems and were not suggested. We did not request or approve a Wi-Fi model. The written bid just stated 8 smoke detectors for $2,636. At the time there were only 6 in stock so I was informed it might be a while before ours could be installed. After the installer called in the order, the install was scheduled for the next week. The installer arrived with Kiddie detectors and I was told these were better and more expensive but was offered the same price. I think I was taken advantage of. The detectors were installed but then I saw that Home Depot sold these for $70 each so I was charged $2,000 for two hours of work. I called the supervisor but was told he was charged more also. No credit was offered. Please be careful when dealing with Service Legends.
