I had sewage backing up into my basement and ended up needing to replace the sewer line, as well as needing to add a sump pump and sewage ejector in my basement. I took my time to vet multiple local companies, collect estimates, and then worked to bring MSD to the table as well. Of the companies that I received quotes from (ASI, Danhauer, Blackburn and Davis, and a friend that had his master plumber’s license), Blackburn and Davis beat the competition by a good margin. Pros: The employees that came out were kind, patient, and professional. They took their time to involve me in updates and progress reports. Missi was very kind and patient with the multiple calls I made to the office throughout the project. She and Jeremy worked with me to ensure that my expectations were met, and provided documentation that I requested as well. Work seems to be executed well, and upon request the team was able to ensure that my yard was satisfactorily put back together after excavation, and worked to clean up in the basement prior to departure. The team also came back out once to re-level some concrete work as well. Cons: Because of the size of the company, and at times being somewhat short handed, communication and the project itself took a little longer than planned. **However, because of the size of the company and the philosophy of the owner, you also get a more than fair price in a market where larger companies collectively seek to gouge the customers in this city (Danhauer), or offer off-the-wall plans to fix the problem that ultimately would either fail, cost too much, or don’t make sense (ASI) when reviewed by other companies.** So in summary: good things come to those who can be patient. Based upon my experience, I would have no reservations recommending Blackburn and Davis. I will also use them in the future.

My water heater went out and my previous plumber retired and suggested Blackburn and David. I called them and had a water heater installed the next day. They were great! Would definitely recommend them.

If I could leave a negative review I would. We were cussed out by an employee named Aaron that was speeding down a populated street. I was with a friend that requires a cane to get across the street and he seemed drunk and aggressive in a company van.

I have used Blackburn & Davis for 30 years for all my plumbing and HVAC needs. I recently had Daryl out to get my A/C working. Per usual, the repair was made in a timely manner and at what I feel to be a reasonable cost. For me, a good Plumbing/HVAC company is as important as a good auto mechanic, electrician and carpenter. Our AC went out during a severe heatwave and this company was recommended to us by a family friend. Wish I would have known they were going to charge us almost $500 in labor for less than an hour worth of work. The repairman came at a time when only my daughter was home. He walked in and looked at the breaker box (where I had purposefully turned the AC breaker off) and decided that the flipped breaker was the problem. This was what he decided was wrong even though it was explained to them during set up of the appointment exactly what part needed to be replaced. So he flipped the breaker and I guess the part was able to pick up a little charge while it was turned off and it decided to work so he left. Well, about 45 minutes later my husband comes home and guess what isn’t working? Yep, the AC. So the repairman was called to come back out and lo and behold the part that I specifically said was bad was the problem. The repairman then left to go pick up the part and upon returning spent about 45 minutes actually fixing the issue. This time when he left there was no mention of cost or when we would be billed which I thought was odd. We were then blindsided with a mailed bill 2-3 weeks later that was over $800 total. Almost $500 of that was for cost of labor! I sure wish I could find a job that paid me nearly $500 an hour. To say we were blown away is an understatement. Listen, I understand that services rendered must be paid for, but that was a rip-off. We will never again use this company and I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

Recently had an emergency situation at my 91 year old mother's house of a severely cracked drain pipe leading from the rear of the house to the front and out to the sewer. Blackburn and Davis sent two young men out who took measurements, photos and worked to prepare an estimate which I received by email the next day. The price was very fair and they began work immediately. Unforunately we were hit with a monsoon which was followed by a week of sub-freezing weather which slowed the repair somewhat but the company kept me up date regularly and finished the work really much quicker than I expected. The entire staff of B&D was very professional, responisive to my questions and worked with me to help keep my mother's stress level down. Should I need plumbing repair anytime in the furture I will be returning to this company and recommend the highly!

Blackburn and Davis was recommended to us when our steam shower stopped working. They went above in beyond from start to finish - properly diagnosing the problem, working with the manufacturer’s warranty department to receive a replacement part, and installing the new piece. We did not even realize it was under warranty and really appreciate the extra effort they put into it. So, when we needed a plumber for our water heater we again contacted Blackburn and Davis. They were again polite, professional, and knowledgeable. They promptly and correctly diagnosed the problem and performed the necessary repairs. I appreciate that they took the time to answer my questions while they were here. We would absolutely recommend Blackburn and Davis without reservation.

We called Blackburn Davis to help install a smart toilet, upon arrival the two men stated they had never installed a toilet like that and did not like "fancy" toilets, they spent over an hour on the telephone (mostly on hold) with the manufacturer. I was eventually handed the phone to explain the issue and was told parts were missing. Granted missing parts were not Blackburns' fault and ultimately the toilet was sent back and replaced and we installed it personally (all handled by ourselves, not them). However, we were charged $220.00 for a phone call (I did most of the explaining). I called owner/manager and was told the charge was the charge and it did not matter if they did anything; the meer fact they were dispatched was the reasoning. I offered half the service charge as a consult/estimate a very average charge for other services but was told it was unacceptable. We will NEVER use them again and will not recommend them either.
