I had a fantastic experience with Boston Standard on March 13th & 14th. I needed a complete new heating system, and chose this company after getting several estimates. Iâm so glad I did. From the project manager, Nick N, to my skilled technicians, Peter S, Tony, and Carlos, it was a job well done. Nick P came the following week, and spent considerable time doing his quality check of the system. They are all very skilled, and take great pride in their work. I appreciated all the education and question answering by Nick N, Nick P and Peter S. They are very knowledgeable, and happy to educate. I could not be more impressed! I highly recommend them. I cannot say enough about the quality and customer service delivered by Boston Standard. Marlon and Brian went above and beyond to get us up and running with a heat pump in 2 days. Nic modeled true White Glove service to get us the needed zero interest Heat Loan approval and the "other Nick" ensured good quality. More importantly, he made sure I understood how to operate the new heating system. It was time to move on from đ˘.. thank you Boston Standard, Mass Save and Tremont Credit Union for getting us there.

Jason, was great. He was friendly and professional. The communication was top notch from all areas of the company. If you're in need of plumbing services, don't hesitate to call them.

I wouldnât recommend using this company. Like many hvac companies, they were purchased by a larger company and the new company jacked rates through the roof & it seems like the people that work there now donât really care. They roped me into some monthly installment plan by telling me that my hot water heater needed a certain type of maintenance. Then when the tech came to fix it, he informed me that the type of unit I had wouldnât ever need that kind of maintenance â of course, I was still on the hook to pay for the âyearly service planâ â half of which they didnât even do & told me there were no appointments available to book. One more complaint: they told me the yearly service plan wouldnât auto-renew & Iâm glad i set a reminder to check in, because that was not true. Oh, and they wanted to charge me $400 to replace the neutralizer in my hot water heater - i paid $11 to do it myself. The tech told me it used to be $75, but since the company was acquired, $400 is the new rate. Overall: find a nice local company that isnât owned by a larger company that is just squeezing the business for cash. Editing because they were so kind to reply so quickly! 1. Iâm not stupid and i recognize that HVAC equipment requires maintenance. Why else would I have enrolled in a maintenance plan? 2. I *Pre-Paid* for the maintenance I scheduled, which i scheduled to occur before my cancellation date. Youâre not being kind by doing this, youâre honoring the contract that you so kindly pointed out that I didnât read close enough. Guys - find yourself a nice local company that isnât owned by Sila Services, the parent company of Boston Standard since 2022.

My dad was having issues with the heat in his house. I had a technician come out to find out why his furnace wasn't heating his house properly. I had 3 companies come out. Boston Standard not only came out on a Sunday to diagnose the problem they also sent me pictures of the furnace but they also found that the hot water heater was leaking too. Robert Sutton the project manager contacted me to explain the situation to me. He knew that replacing both would be a substantial expense but suggested that we fix the furnace but the hot water tank needed to be replaced right away before it let go. Robert also explained financing options if we wanted to go forward with replacing both the hot water tank and the furnace. My dad and I are very happy with the service Boston Standard provided, from the initial phone call and through the entire process. Everyone was very polite and courteous. The guys came to replace both the furnace and hot water tank on Thursday and by Friday afternoon everything was done. They took away the 39 year old furnace and the 26 year old hot water tank. They cleaned everything as if no one was ever there. I highly recommend Boston Standard and Robert Sutton. Thank you everyone at Boston Standard!

I hired Boston Standard to advise me and install heat pumps (mini split system) in my 100-year old two-family house in Boston, both apartments, in January-February 2024. Both apartments were previously on gas-fired boilers with steam radiators. I've waited just over a year to write a review until I saw how they worked through both a summer and a full winter. Bottom line, I am very, very happy with with Boston Standard's work from day one, and with my overall decision to move to heat pumps. Leo was the first person to come from Boston Standard. He stayed nearly 3 hours on that first visit, going through every room in the house, answering my questions, explaining ideas, alternatives, and trade-offs, and taking measurements. As more questions came up, I would email him and he would immediately reply. After having with two other companies also come in, I chose Boston Standard because I got so much more information and felt they really understood the situation well, while their quotes were similar to or a little less than others, with a better warranty of their work. They started installation shortly thereafter, and Chris headed up the installation team. He was there everyday from first light to late, supervising and being readily available to answer all my questions. It was a huge deal doing both apartments at once in the middle of winter, and I was home for much of it. Chris always let me know what they would be doing when and in what rooms, so I was able to continue working at home. All the workers were cheerful and careful in the house and yard. And they even took care to not let the aging cats wander out of the downstairs apartment. They cleaned up everyday and left virtually no construction mess, so it was an easy process to get through. At the end, Chris and the team made sure everything was working, and instructed both me and our tenant on how to operate the system. Boston Standard took care of filing for the Mass Save rebates and I got those within a few weeks. The performance of the system has been fantastic during both summer and during this very cold winter (many nights in the 5-15 degree range, with days not getting out of the 20s), really exceeding my expectations. The heat pumps (LG Red cold climate systems) have had absolutely no problem keeping up in the cold weather, and my utility bills have been about what they were with the gas-fired boilers. Everybody said it would cost so much to heat the house, but that has not been the case. The air conditioning in the summer was the best discovery of all. I hate AC that is too cold, so I tend to set it high like at 77. It feels quite cool because the heat pumps dehumidify at the same time, so it's very, very nice walking into the house on a hot humid day, and feeling dry and cool but not chilled. And no noise! The inverters on the walls are so quiet! I would highly recommend Boston Standard to anyone considering the same transition from gas to electric. I have never once regretted my decision to work with them. I haven't had to call them for any problems, but I will definitely use them for regular servicing of the system.

Timely and great communication. Once they arrived they noted my boiler has a service kit and there are some items that should be replaced in my boiler once a year so they had to come back a few days later. Only recommendation is that this be checked prior to arrival and communicated to eliminate need to come back. Other than that great service

Great response time from Boston Standard. Our boiler started acting up with the freezing temperatures and Jeff was able to come the next day to replace some parts that were leaking water and do a general servicing. He was super knowledgable and helpful with my questions. Great experience and glad we work with Boston Standard.
