  • Negative Experiences: One customer experienced a misdiagnosis of a basement flood issue, a poor interaction with the operations manager, and recommends avoiding the company. Another customer had a plumber fail to bring necessary parts, charged a service fee for no work, and had difficulty obtaining a refund. Another customer had a negative experience with a sink installation, with the plumber failing to provide all necessary parts.
  • Positive Experiences: Several customers reported positive experiences, including same-day service, knowledgeable and professional technicians (Micah, Andrew, David VanRhee), accurate quotes, and efficient work. Some technicians went above and beyond, providing helpful information and leaving the work area clean.

I’m going to write a very quick overview and a word of warning. Over the past few years we remodeled our entire house inside and out. We have worked with dozens of contractors and service providers. This is the only negative review I’ve written. Long story short, last month we had a flood in our basement. It was enough water to ruin the baseboards and carpet in our entire 1600 sq ft finished basement. We called All-Flo to diagnose the issue, as the restoration team could not start until we had a diagnosis. They had a technician come on a Saturday who spent over an hour in our home and by the time he left he had a best guess that the city had a “backup that cleared itself.” He said he could camera it but “if he were in my shoes he wouldn’t do it because there was a 1 in a million chance they would find something.” I paid him and he left. We were left in a bad spot because we only had a “best guess” and we couldn’t risk this happening again. He left and I had a second plumber come to diagnose where these hundreds of gallons of water came from. (You can see my review of this other company which did a great job) They diagnosed where the clog was (still an active clog), took pictures of it, called and sent the pictures to the city who came out an hour later to clear the problem. Thank the lord for this other plumber. Things got even worse when I attempted to have a conversation with All-Flo about what happened. I spoke with their operations manager, and I pray the owners of All-Flo have a recording of this conversation (11/25 around 2pm). I won’t go into details about this conversation and the things this operations manager said to me, but I just beg you to avoid All-Flo. There are many great plumbers in Grand Rapids. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Our kitchen sink clogged up and our common household methods all failed to work. I called All Flo and they were able to get someone out to our house within a few hours. Micah was knowledgeable, professional, and got our drain unclogged in a timely manner. He also provided helpful information during the appointment and answered any questions we had. Highly recommend Micah and All Flo

I wish I’d sedated myself and let the dog deal with the appointment At the beginning of this week I called Al-Flo Plumbing to schedule an appointment to have my reverse osmosis filters changed. I verified twice during the call that the plumber would bring the filters along. Of course he didn’t bring the filters along. When finding the filters locally proved impossible he said he’d order the parts and return to install on Tuesday. Irritating as I’d already rearranged my schedule to be home today and sedated my dog, but I could have accepted that had it ended there. But I was then told that I had to pay $55 for the service call where no work was done but that it would be deducted from the bill on Tuesday. I did not want to pay due to someone else’s error but felt I had to under duress. After the plumber left I was able to find someone reliable to do the work on Sunday. I called to cancel and requested an immediate refund. The woman on the phone told me she is unable to process refunds but will send a message to a man in another department who will decide what to do and call me back, although she was unable to tell me when he might call. I replied that if someone doesn’t call me and process my refund by the end of business today I will dispute the charge with my credit card company. This was the last contact I have had with All-Flo. Each time I’ve called to schedule an appointment I’ve been told their records show a different address . Despite insistence to the contrary, I know I moved to a new home almost a decade ago and have had work done on five separate occasions since then. In retrospect I should have let the plumber go to my old address so the new owners could pay the $55. This is enough chances; I’ll use a different company in the future.
