Punctual, honest, professional and friendly. I deal with service contractors daily since I operate and older campground. I wish all my service contractors were this good. No non sense, and great conversation focused around the issue but down to earth friendly as well. And pinpointed the issue fast! I will be using them in the future!

This is only a one-star review because it can't be zero. These clowns came into our house to find a leak near the shower. They refused to go to any great lengths, and decided it was "probably" a hairline fracture in a certain section of pipe. Never mind that the leak wasn't constant, as a crack would have been. When he came to fix said leak, our plumber noted that dust completely covered the area on, around, and below what American Leak said was the problem. Clearly the leak was somewhere else. When we called to ask for a refund, we were denied. Constant circular arguments about semantics were more important to these jerks than being honest or fair. They care more about the money than their reputation. We'll get our money back, and it will be more painful the longer they fight it. Never, EVER, pay these jerks ANYTHING!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY. If you are a plumbing company, do NOT recommend them to your customers. They will damage your credibility and reputation just as they do their own.

ALD came out to find a leak following a spike in my water bill but no visible water damage anywhere. They expertly located the leak in short time, supplied an estimate for repair, and gave options for alternate repairs (that were outside their capacity but would be longer term and sustainable) with a referral to a plumbing company for those alternatives. The two associates, Chuck and Scott, were knowledgeable, professional, personable, and efficient. I would highly recommend ALD Columbus to any in need.

We had American leak install a new liner in our pool 3 years ago. There were issues with the liner from the first week. We have had 3 different corners and one side of our liner slip out of place. They came back to repair it two times and on the second, they tried to have us pay for repair even though it was their mistake and it was right after they installed the liner. My husband fixed one of the corners himself as well. Upon opening up our pool last month we noticed another corner slipping and there was tearing around the skimmer. This should not be happening as the liner is only 3 years. We have tried emailing and calling several times and American leak will not respond to calls or try to address this issue. It’s been over 2 weeks and we have only got “We will get back with you.” Latham, The liner warranty company looked at pictures and told us that it would not be covered under warranty because it looked to be an installation problem. The liner was never measured correctly to begin with which would explain the corners falling and hole/stretching where the skimmer is. It would be nice to receive a call from American Leak to resolve this problem. Until then, we are extremely upset customers.

This was the biggest waste of money. The team did not complete basis investigative work and in the end entirely misdiagnosed the location of the leak. Thankfully the plumber located it (with no help from American Leak). American Leak tried to argue “well the leak wasn’t in the sink or the toilet” (which a five year old could have told you) and argue over other semantics such as using the word “probably.” The specific location they told me the leak “probably was” was clearly above where the leak actually was as even evidence by the location of water damage. Their website states they can locate hard to find hair line leaks. They instead gave me a wide range of location that spanned 3-4 feet and still were wrong all the while insisting “the leak was where we said it was” despite being below. It was a complete joke UPDATE: Since American Leak has offered further explanation, let me be clear that despite their response, my plumber did not use any of the info gathered by American Leak. The American Leak technician very clearly told me in a face to face conversation that based on his expertise the most likely issue was a small crack in the long pipe that connects the valve to the shower head (while the report states the leak could be anywhere between the valve and the shower head - despite American Leaks own website boasting how they are able to “pinpoint” the hairline crack leaks). The photo attached shows that the issue was actually with the spout (valve, connecting pipe, and shower head ABOVE where the actual issue and actual leak were). You can see in the photo that the plumber replaced a piece of the spout. Leak is now gone. When the plumber came they were skeptical of the American Leak “diagnosis” and dug further. American Leak didn’t even bother to remove a single piece of the trim kit during their “investigation.” American Leak keeps saying they “pinpointed the leak but misdiagnosed the cause.” They did not “pinpoint the leak.” In fact on the phone during my complained he reassured me “We confirmed the link wasn’t in the sink, it wasn’t in the toilet, and it wasn’t in the drain.” If by “pinpointing” a leak it means narrowing it down to the entirety of the water source for the tub and shower then I suppose they did a stand up job. Somehow I doubt that any consumer would agree that this constitutes an expert pinpointing a leak.

From one of our customers “Great Job - saved me thousands” “There was a water main break at my house. I called a plumbing contractor who said I needed to get someone to find the leak first, before they would fix it. For some odd reason my meter was at the back of by basement, behind the furnace, with the main line coming in at the front of the house. One contractor said he’d have to jackhammer up the floor, apparently have the furnace removed, so he could install a 4-foot sheath over the line just before the meter. Another option he offered was going around the house to the back, past the gas, electric and cable lines next to the AC unit. Which might have meant I’d have to tear out part of the back deck and a fence. I asked why they couldn’t just punch a hole in the front and run a new line inside. The man said he couldn’t, due to having to have the sheath over the line four feet from the meter. Either option, jackhammering or going around back was going to cost me thousands and thousands of dollars. I mentioned this to Chuck from American Leak Detection, who we hired to find the leak, and he said. “Why don’t you just move your meter to the front of the house”. He said they could do that. I was fine with it. It was a great solution. The guys showed up got the meter moved and the line fixed in less that a working day. I ran the inside line myself, which saved me $1,500 dollars (they did the connections). The price I paid was just over the price of the deposit required by the other company. This literally saved me thousands of dollars. They even used the scoop on the backhoe to remove my wife’s deeply rooted plants, from her front garden, as we were not able to dig them up before the excavation. They set them aside and we were able to replant them. Mark.Thompson Oct 15, 2024

Rich Gould was the tech that came out today from American Leak Detection of Columbus. He was a pleasure and very professional to work with, his work was perfect. Its nice to have someone come into your home and communicate well with you on what they will be doing and talk with you about any questions you have like Rich did. Today was a great experience and my issue was resolved in a short period of time. Everything was clean and back to normal when Rich left which is not always the case when you have home repairs done. I would definitely recommend this company and will use them in the future should I have a need to. From the time I received the estimate to the end results today everything went great! Thank you American Leak Detection, Pat Sammons

They found the exact spot where the leak was and went right to work. The area they had to work in was quite small but they got the job done in no time. Very pleased with the results.
