Review Summary

  • Positive: Brandon was professional, on-time, and charged the quoted price for a difficult unclogging job, even coordinating a camera inspection. Todd quickly resolved a plumbing issue late at night, explained the problem, and provided preventative advice. Todd was prompt, courteous, and fixed a tub drain quickly, with a free estimate. Reshawn did outstanding work installing a new water heater and cleaned up the mess. Todd arrived same day to clean a drain, offering helpful recommendations.
  • Negative: An elderly woman was overcharged $10,000 for a water service installation that was done improperly and unsafely, with rude customer service and a threat of a lien. The Miamisburg franchise was dishonest, unethical, and lazy in mitigation and restoration work, including billing for work not done, failing to provide documentation to the insurance company, and ignoring customer and adjuster communications. A broken HVAC condensation line was not addressed, resulting in further damage. Another customer experienced a poor mold remediation process, with extreme temperatures and a perceived scam. The business is not BBB approved.

Brandon unclogged a very long pvc pipe leading from my sump pump to a storm sewer. He showed up on time and was very professional. The job was much tougher than expected due to the location of the clog, yet he charged exactly what he quoted. He even coordinated a visit from another employee to run a camera to try to diagnose the reason for the clog at no extra charge. I could not be more pleased with him and his company.

They charged an elderly woman $10,000 to do a water service. They did not run it up under the footer like you are supposed to. They ran it outside. It is visible. There is nothing blocking it. They did not put a main shut off. It is not below the frost line, and they are threatening to put a lien on the house and I talk to the guy about it. He was extremely rude and said it was none of my business.

Had a plumbing issue at 7pm after most plumbers were closed, and so we called Roto-Rooter and they were happy to come out and fix our problem. Todd resolved the issue very quickly, and afterwords he explained what the issue was and the preventative maintenance steps we could take to stop the issue from happening again. Todd was clearly extremely knowledgeable, but also was very professional and courteous, given the late hour and the urgency of our issue. I would be happy to recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone with a similar plumbing issue, and specifically I would recommend Todd to anyone who wants their issues resolved quickly and correctly.

Todd arrived Promptly and was very courteous! My tub wouldn’t drain. He Found the problem quickly and fixed it! Arrived late on a Saturday night at no extra charge with a free estimate. I would definitely recommend Roto Rooter. I’ve used their service a few times in the past and trust their work. My tub was clogged and he cleaned up the mess.

Due to a major leak in my water heater I had significant damage in several rooms of my home. In addition to having Roto-Rooter clean up the mess, they also installed a new heater. Technician Reshawn did the installation, and his work was outstanding. He was at my home from about noon until finishing the job at about 7:00 PM. I really appreciate his thoroughness in doing the installation and cleaning up the mess.

Mitigation and restoration with Roto-Rooter of Miamisburg has been dishonest, unethical, and lazy in the work they have done at my rental home located in Xenia. On November 27, 2024 Roto-Rooter unclogged a floor drain at my rental home. They subsequently did the mitigation and clean-up. It was a black water clean up. I have already paid them $1k of a $2k deductible. They have billed my insurance for 6 days of dry time, but have failed to submit a completed dry-log to my insurance. My insurance has asked for more proof to justify 6 days to dry out a concrete floor, but the claims manager (Jen Waterman) has not responded to my adjustor's calls or emails. Additionally, my insurance adjustor needs photo proof of technicians wearing full personal protective equipment (PPE) for every time it is billed to my insurance. My adjustor has reached out multiple times to the claims manager, but her emails/calls go unreturned. My tenet has told me that she never saw any technician wear full PPE while working. Further, Roto-Rooter is billing my insurance for cleaning 1600 sq feet of ceiling. There is no ceiling to clean. The overflow occured in an unfinished portion of the basement. My insurance adjustor has emailed/called the claims manager multiple times. My insurance adjustor also asked the claims manager to provide completed dry-logs of the measurements taken for the six days Roto-Rooter is claiming it took to dry the basement. The claims manager has never returned call/email. I could go on-and-on. There are more specific questions my insurance adjustor is asking proof, justification, clarification but the claims manager will not return her calls/emails. For two weeks, I have called and left messages for Alan (general manager) and Nick Macy (mitigation supervisor) and neither have returned my calls. Last Thursday, December 12, I spoke with Alan and he told me he would give my message to Nick and he would call me back. Nick never called me back. However, today, I received a bill from Roto-Rooter saying that I owe $12K for the mitigation and clean-up. I am appalled Roto-Rooter has ignored my phone calls, failed to follow-up with my claims adjustor, and then send me a bill in the mail. I have been forced to elevate my complaints to the corporate level. Today, I called Pat Swanson at Cincinnati corp office. I truly hope someone can get Roto-Rooter Miamisburg to return my adjustors calls/emails, and I hope they will own up to their dishonest billing of work. Additionally, for three days the Roto-Rooter mitigation tech (Phil) in-charge of site clean-up never contacted my tenet to coordinate pick-up of the equipment. For three days, the tech failed to call my tenet and showed up to the house, expecting to retrieve the equipment. My tenet was at work each time. Lastly, during mitigation one of the techs broke the condensation line for my HVAC. Phil will not admit that his crew broke it. It wasn't broken when Roto-Rooter plumber inspected all the lines when he unstopped the clog, but was broken after the mitigation team was in the basement, working and moving equipment. Phil did admit that he noticed a break on the HVAC condensation line during the clean-up. He told my tenet's 19 year old son, who has autism, about the break. Phil never informed my tenet or myself. The let the mitigation continue knowing their was a broken condensation line. A few days after the equipment was removed, the broken condensation line leaked into the basement, leaving a puddle of water in the exact location Roto-Rooter had just dried. When I asked about this, Roto-Rooter denied any responsibility but told me I needed to submit another claim to my insurance. (This would have come with another $2k deductible). They would only fix the problem they created if I paid them more money. I have been appalled at the dishonest, unethical, and lazy business practices of Roto-Rooter Miamisburg. I will never contract with Roto-Rooter again, and I will never refer friends/family. Be forewarned - this franchise of Roto-Rooter is not worth your time or money.

My experience was TERRIBLE and is still not resolved. They put five machines in my house and they ran 24/7 for seven days. The temperature in my bathroom was 38 degrees and they said that was the way to dry water. I don't know if you want to use them but personally I think I will go to a hotel until my problem is fixed by another plumber if I have another plumbing issue. There is NO law in Ohio for mold remediation. This was a total scam because we are elderly and took advantage of us NOT BBB approved. DO NOT USE.
