I've been a customer of C.J. Hansen's for 30 years. A commercial customer and "had" always loved the company and have probably referred them three or four dozen times over the last 30 years, I have personally spent thousands and thousands of dollars with this company. As have the people I have referred to them! However, I'm having an issue with them currently that is not being resolved. I had some repair work done on some new units that I purchased from them. These are mini splits for some new commercial/ residential construction that I had recently completed in downtown Salem. Apparently there is a manufacturing issue on these mini splits, according to their sales technician. Of the 6 units, I have had two pumps replaced under warranty and it took their service provider and hour and a half to do this. Then I had one pump replaced not under warranty and they tried to bill me 3 1/2 hours to do this??? Three and 1/2 hours is unreasonable for one pump when two pumps were replaced in an hour and a half previously. Not only was there another pump that needed to be replaced, but one of the units wasn't working at all and it was not a pump issue as it was one of the pumps that was replaced under warranty. This technician when up on the roof and reported that there was a communication issue between the new mini split head and the new unit on the roof (all installed and purchased through C.J. Hansen). I was told the roof unit and the mini split head were not speaking to each other. This problem was out of this technicians scope of practice and I was referred to an electrician. I have asked C.J. Hansen to resolve this issue of billed service time with me because I do not believe I should have to pay for an inexperienced technician to do something that an experienced technician can and did do in an hour and a half. I've talked to this new technician and he was belligerent with me and told me I could take my business elsewhere?? If that's the case, I will do so but I would really like to have this issue resolved as this had been a great working relationship for over 30 years. I'm saddened to have to put in this review but things have drastically changed to C.J. Hansen and I think the public and our community should be aware. Respectfully submitted, Angela Jones I see your response below and with the fact that I purchased all the units at the exact same time, no knowing some of the units you had in stock were older and easier to work on and repair, how would you like to handle the balance you are billing me. You should take some responsibility on your side as this unit discrepancy was not disclosed to me. This explanation is the first I've heard of this. There's been a total lack of communication. You have not tried to contact me. All you've tried to do is bill me. I did speak with your technician and he was belligerent to me defending his hours, he did not explain that I had two different units and they had to be handled in two different ways. Let me know what you'd like to do to resolve this. I think we need to come up with some sort of compromise. All my best, Angela

Always 5 Stars with C.J. Hansen crew. We recently had a heat pump/AC unit installed. This company will make sure that you are completely happy with your job, which we were. Our experience with David and Brandon was that both gentlemen were a cut above in what we are used to for home repair service. Both were so polite, very clean with the project, explained what was being done and made sure to ask if we had any questions and then answered them. It was obvious they knew what they were doing and gave us true confidence when they left today.

Feb 19th and 20th left a message for someone named Crystal to get an appointment and never heard back. On 3/4 told Ryan would call. In mid March, about the 12th, their rep Ryan came out to look at our boiler once he heard of the lack of response which was nice, since he didn’t typically go on sight. He gave me an update via the phone, my brother was there, and said we could get another 5yrs out of the boiler but needed new parts and it was an old model either way; this was good. But the quote promised never came to my husband or I. On 4/26 and 4/29 left message to let me know about quote, on his voicemail. Today, 5/8, spoke to front desk, name sounded like Lexi, and asked if we could get a referral since there was no forward motion and the referrals don’t go to Salem. The company that referred us here does all our other work but does not do boilers; you can bet I’ll let them know about this so they don’t give any more business.I know things get busy or even that parts are less money then something new, but this has affected our home and it’s function.

When scheduling service for an air-to-water boiler, I was told I called "exactly the right people". The tech got here and said they almost never see these... Charged over $300 for an hour's looking around (no actual service) and drive time. So, I feel pretty seriously misled, and I still have to find someone to service the boiler. 2 stars because at least the technician was nice Update: I've been asking to split the bill with them for a month (seems reasonable to only ask for half my money back), and I'm getting the run around. They insist this is how they operate and everything is fine. One star, feels like a scam, would not recommend.

Be careful with these guys they may bill you for stuff without notifying you in advance that things like coming out and giving a bid. They sent me a $200 charge for a bid after I did not proceed with the proposed work and never disclosed that there would be a charge. Would advise finding another company that is more transparent.

We are very happy with CJ Hansen company, who installed a radiant heat system in our new house just over a year ago. Everyone we've dealt with has been very professional and knowledgeable. They let us know up front that it would take a few adjustments to get the system fine tuned to our preferences, and they have always responded quickly to address issues as they came up. They have all taken the time to answer my questions and explain what they're doing as they're working on the system (especially Jake, who has been very patient in walking me through everything he's doing and explaining why). Highly recommend CJ Hansen for any plumbing or heating needs.
