Review Summary

Goodwin Plumbing has a mixed reputation. Positive reviews highlight professionalism, friendliness, reasonable pricing, and good service, with some customers having used them for years. However, there are significant negative reviews detailing serious issues. One customer experienced a gas line installation that resulted in gas leaks, lack of permits, code violations, and unprofessional behavior, leading to significant inconvenience and additional costs. Another customer had a negative experience with a diagnostic visit, being charged a high fee for a superficial assessment.

John came and gave me the quote. I thought it was reasonable and scheduled the work He was very personable and explained what he was doing each step. I am happy to say he was very conscientious and actually did a follow up appointment. I would give him 10 stars if possible.

Our experience with Goodwin Plumbing was excellent. Everyone I dealt with was professional, competent, and eager to please. Richard quickly diagnosed the problem with our water heater, replaced a valve, adjusted some settings, and we were back in business!

Over the past few years, I have used them several times. I found their bills to be reasonable, knowledgeable and most important they are interested in maintaining a long term relationship.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We had Goodwin come out to install a new gas line for a pool heater we had installed. A week later the gas company came out as our bill was extremely high to check for leaks. The gas company found leaks in several places and turned off our gas to the house, which included the heat to our home. Not only this, but found out the Goodwin had pulled NO permit and requested no codes inspections and we were told by Goodwin that they were not aware that permits had to be pulled for additional piping (codes states that any new pipes greater than 10 feet in length require a codes inspection and permit). How did they not know this as they are supposed to be the experts!!! Goodwin came out the next day and spent several hours trying to find the leaks. Once they did, they notified us that the leaks were coming from places that they did not touch and that we would be charged for the finding and repairs of the leaks. It took an additional 2 days for them to fix the leaks, and once the codes inspector came out it failed again for leaks!!!! Not only this, but the codes inspector informed us that they had installed all new piping with no hangers! After speaking to the gas company they reiterated the fact that the amount of piping installed with no hangers would cause extra stress on the existing joints which would cause them to leak. Which means in fact the work they had done did cause the leaks to start popping up on the existing joints! Also, once they finally pulled the permit they did not schedule any of the codes inspections, so I had to call the permitting and planning office myself in order to get this done each tie they failed the inspection. (4) days later, no heat to the home, and 7 children in the home e finally passed inspection, but not before the inspector had to come out (3) different times to tell Goodwin they had done the job incorrectly. I called Goodwin's office on numerous occasions and requested to speak to the plumbing manager and not once did I receive a call. To top it off, we received a bill for the work they had to performed to fix issues caused by their own techs and their lack of code knowledge in the county that their business is within! Be VERY careful when hiring this company and stay away if you are able to. The headache, unprofessionalism, and money you will spend is NOT worth it!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael was very knowledgeable and found the plumbing issue within 5 minutes of his arrival at my office. I had another plumbing company come out the week before and they found nothing wrong with the system and charged me for their "inspection". Michael was very professional, explained to us what the issue was and fixed the problem. I highly recommend Goodwin Plumbing and Michael!

A year ago I left them 5 stars - they provided an Amazing service! Quick and efficient. Last week I asked them to come to my house because we've been hearing a drip from our upstairs bathroom every time we shower, but we can't see any damage, so we're unsure where its coming from. Plumber comes, doesn't even go to check the drain from the bathroom, hears the drip because my husband ran the shower and checks the ceiling for any water damage but couldn't SEE anything. Asked my husband to sign a blank diagnostic form and that he would fill it out (OUR MISTAKE for trusting them) and just told us to call back when we start seeing water stains. Yesterday we received the bill for over $100 for a diagnostic?? Which diagnostic? it literally says that they hear the leak, but can't see any water damage? I called Goodwin's office, and they said because our signature is in the form (again, our mistake), we must pay the “diagnostic” for $100. Kind of an excessive amount for just coming in to tell me what I already know. I wouldn’t recommend or use them again.
