I'm a property manager of 12 different units in Austin. I've used Clarke Kent several times with decent results in the past. Not the best price but usually fast (same day) However this time is a bit different. I needed 6 feet of 2" PVC with 2 45° couplers connected and I don't have time to do it myself. Been waiting for going on 3 days for an estimate. Called the office several times to hear them say "oh we'll email you the estimate by the end of the day"/ "waiting on supervisor to ok the job" still waiting on that email. Never had to wait for email quote/estimate before. My client wanted it done in a timely manner. I guess i Shouldn't have called Clarke Kent plumbing. I finally found the time to do it myself. I'm not a plumber and it took me less than an hour. Thanks for nothing Clarke Kent Plumbing.

I have used Clarke Kent Plumbing twice in the past few years. Once to make repairs to a toilet flange and once for a foundation leak. The first repair was done timely and well and the plumber was easy to work with, respectful of the house and cleaned up after himself. The 2nd repairs was an awful experience. The repair was eventually done to my satisfaction, but it took more visits than it should (even for a complex foundation lead) and the plumber was hard to work with and disrespectful of my property. For example, he used a square plastic bin that stored my clean dishtowels under my kitchen sink as a bucket without asking first, then put my clean dishtowels back into the bin even though the bin still had water in it. I found this about an hour after he left and I reached for a clean dishtowel. I also had to clean up the house after he left. Since I had one very good experience and one bad experience, I'm giving 3 stars. I likely will not be using again since I don't want to risk another bad experience with something as critical as plumbing.

I have used Clarke Kent Plumbing three times over that last half-dozen years, the most recent being a burst pipe in my yard today. They’ve always been quick to respond, efficient, and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone.

I set up an appointment with them on a Tuesday and was told someone would be around between 10 and 4 on that Friday. So I took off a day of work and waited around. At 4:08 someone called to say that no one was able to come by today and told me they could reschedule me for Monday. I told them I couldn’t do another day because I took off work for this, and they said they could only send someone down if I was willing to pay for the emergency services hourly charge of $250/hr. When I refused and told them that wasn’t right, they sent the plumber down free of charge. Well apparently this poor plumber drove an hour south to me from Leander, ONLY to give me an estimate of what the work would cost. He said he technically couldn’t do the work unless I was able to pay the $250/hr after hours fee, but he could come back Monday. What a joke! Such a waste of my time and their poor employees.

I made an appointment for a shower pipe leak that turned out to be a relatively simple job as the pipe just needed some new paste and tape. Unfortunately, while loosening the shower fixture the plumber was not paying enough attention and the majority of the fixture fell. Although I struggled to understand how the plumber could not see that part of the fixture was not screwed into the pipe and would separate when being removed, I understand that accidents happen. However, after resuming the job, the plumber then ended up heavily scratching up the shower fixture when tightening it back up. The plumber also applied what seemed like a pretty amateur silicone caulk as the finishing touches. The caulk was very messy and was missing in some areas, also started cracking the next day so I ended up just removing it and doing it myself after the plumber had left. After all was said and done, the plumber did admit fault for dropping the fixture and said the company would order the part that had been broken and come replace it. I was charged full price for the job even after what had happened. After several weeks of silence, I had to reach out to their customer service myself several times in order to get status updates and schedule a return appointment to replace the broken part. I also mentioned the damages to the wall and floor where the fixture had hit on its way down and they insured me it would be taken care of. They asked if I wanted a different plumber and I insisted on a different one several times, but I ended up with the same person as before. The plumber came and replaced the part and quickly left with no mention of any other repairs. At this point I had completely lost trust and didn't bother following up with the company for anything further. I can understand accidents but there were plenty of moments where my experience could have been much better, and it was instead poor and frustrating. I would definitely not recommend Clarke Kent.

They were kind and efficient and didn't try to scam us to make us spend more money like most plumbers these people were honest. And efficient with their time as well.

Called at 9 PM for a plumbing emergency. Received a text about 40 mins later that it would be an hour for the plumber to arrive and $250 min charge. OK great! (So we thought) Plumber calls me an hour later. “Hey it’s gonna be $800 minimum and at least another hour before I can get out there to you - but hey, we can likely squeeze you in tomorrow.” Customer service? Lacking indeed! Don’t bother with this company.

We had Serge come check the very small leak reported by an inspector. He tightened a plastic nut and did not want to charge for such a small job nor there was a charge for coming out. This is the best plumbing company I have seen. He gave me an option to change out a part since the stopper wasn't working. For his no pressure option, I had him fix the issue and was glad to pay the reasonable charge for work done.
