Stan's Heating, Air, Plumbing & Electrical
Review Summary
Stan's Heating, Air, Plumbing & Electrical has mixed reviews. Some customers report positive experiences with fast service, professional technicians, and reasonable pricing, particularly for HVAC replacement, hot water heater service, and plumbing. However, other customers report significant issues, including:
- Poor Quality and Reliability: Multiple complaints about HVAC systems failing prematurely (within 2-3 years) and high repair costs.
- Poor Customer Service: Unresponsive communication, failure to address complaints, and dismissive attitudes from technicians.
- Overcharging: Questionable pricing practices, including high labor costs.
- Ineffective Repairs: Multiple visits required to resolve issues, with some problems not being fixed at all.
- Questionable Business Practices: Concerns about the validity of the BBB rating, and the existence of a customer service representative ("Michelle England").

They did a fantastic job on our HVAC replacement today! Price came out and did our estimate within an hour of us calling to inquire about a replacement and two days later we have a brand new system. Fast, affordable, and great customer service. Roy and Irving were our techs and they were very professional and explained everything about the new system to us. They honestly left everything cleaner than it was before. Highly recommend!!!

Update after being forced to look at the receipts and add everything up for complaints I realized the system was only 2 years old before it died. In total I have paid Stan's just short of $30,000 in 2 years. Result of the BBB complaint and I quote "an A+ rating is not a guarantee of service" this after I asked how it is possible for Stan's to still have an A+ rating after taking weeks and weeks to respond, lying, etc. It took them over a month to respond to the BBB and this is after the BBB reminding them three times, not agreeing to an independent 3rd party to examine the system, never explaining how a maximum 4 hour repair could possibly be 1,400 for labor only, and only acknowledging finally apologizing about the menopause comment in January. See below for the temps in a house after handing a company $30,000 over 2 years. Also, "Michelle England" does not exist, they just put something in the responses to bad reviews to appear to be doing something, you will never hear anything from them. I have not had the unit not touched so that Stan's has not out to say it was a different company that caused the damage so I had to use space heaters over the winter and now will have to use a portable air conditioner. In short the average cost of the broken unit for years in service is right at $10,000, that is $10,000 per year in service. I encourage anyone reading this that has also had issue to file a Texas Attorney General complaint, a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation complaint, and to avoid any company that advertises that they are BBB accredited because it means absolutely ZERO. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Originally left on Yelp 8/21/2024 I contacted David Renault, the original salesperson, on 10/6/2024 via email and this supposed Michelle England on 10/27/2024 and as of 11/11/2024 I have heard ZERO and the unit runs 24/7 and does not cool the house down a single degree and the heater smells of mold. Again, $17,000 and not even 3 years old. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ August 21, 2024 Absolutely abysmal in every way. I had to have the air conditioners replaced during the pandemic and supply was short and the smaller places that I normally use were being out stripped by places like Stan's. Well, we all know how bad the summers have been so $17,000 for top end unit that I assumed would lasty 20 years. Not 3 years in and I already have $1,400 repair bill. To boot, install was heinous, but all service providers during the pandemic were. The installers were basically 20-year-old dudes making too much money and too cool for school. Fast forward to the first servicing and I told them the next day something was not working the same. It cooled down and I was ill so I let it go. When I had the units serviced this year I told them again and they implied it was me. Nope a few weeks later the whole unit stopped working, yup it was all in the old chicks head. You wonder why women get irate, this is a perfect example. It is ok though, it looks to be brewing class action suit product based on what I am seeing online and Stan's will get roped in because there is absolutely no way that they did not already know that there were issues. Corporate greed at its absolute best, this is what is destroying America, my last units were 30 years old. I really regret replacing the second unit now. Carrier Infinity series, run the other way, Stan's do not believe the salespeople.

We woke up to an AC that wasn’t cooling the house. I called Stan’s and they had a technician at the house in 1 hour and he had identified the problem and fixed it 30 minutes later. Pricing is reasonable, they are quick, and most importantly they are trustworthy! This is my second time using Stan’s and it’s been a great experience both times.

Thanks to Aaron and Carrington for diagnosing, upgrading, resetting and flushing my tankless hot water heater. Service was fast and work was done in a professional manner. Thank you!
