Texas Plumbing was called out after hours to my son-in-law's home during the recent freeze. The vacuum breaker and piping at the well head had frozen. The tech arrived around 9:00 pm, stayed a half hour and did not fix the problem. He replaced a pressure relief valve, which had nothing to do with the problem. A verbal ballpark estimate of ~ $600 was quoted. A total of $884.94 was charged to my card for the non-repair. My son-in-law called Texas Plumbing the next day to dispute the charge and was offered a $250 reduction of the bill IF he would leave a five star review online. Pretty sketchy stuff. A well specialist company came out the next day and replaced the cracked piping at the well head and installed a new backflow device in under an hour and had water restored to the house. They charged $475. I disputed Texas Plumbing charge with Master Card and will pursue other avenues of redress. I find it remarkable that a company will opt for the one time screw job rather than want a return customer. Too bad a zero star rating isn't an option.
