My garbage disposal went out and I used American Home Shield for the first time. They scheduled Maldonado Plumbing for the job. I’m not gonna lie, I did read some of the reviews before them coming out and was a bit concerned. However, my experience was a positive one. They arrived on time and conducted themselves in a very professional manner. They were able to quickly identify the issue and ended up replacing the disposal with a new one. They also identified another issue with the sink plumbing which I agreed was an issue and explained to me that was not covered by AHS which I already knew.

If I could rate this as a zero I would. The owner and son came out to look at my water heater and didn't touch it. They refused and said it was the gas company's fault. He told me he knew the insurance we have through American Home shield wouldn't cover a new one. How could he know what was wrong with the heater if he never touched the appliance? As the other comments on here show he is very aware of what insurance will cover. He I'm sure was going to tell us he needed to replace it and up charge a new heater out of pocket for us plus labor and expenses. Did the entire job myself for less than 600 dollars. I was not going to wait around for him to scam me out of money with add ons for pricing. Never touched my water heater at all. Very unsatisfied completely.

My mom’s home insurance covers majority of the work but they wanted to add an “additional fee”. They called me to say, “Give me the money now so I can work on it because I have other jobs to do.” They are so rude and aggressive even with the adjustments from the insurance they still demanded the full amount instead of the approved work. They’re too aggressive and shady as hell.

DO NOT use this plumber unless you want to get ripped off by him and give away your money!!!! I do not usually write reviews (cliche', I know) and this one is 10 months after this "company" provided services because I was naive, trusting, and ignorant. Nevertheless, Mr. Maldonado took advantage of my trust, and I daresay the fact that I'm a woman (but I have no doubt he would do the same to anyone), and outrageously overcharged me on a what I now know to be a simple job. American Home Shield assigned me this company to diagnose why my A/C unit was leaking and after both his sons (older gentlemen too, not young) came in to look at it, was told that the PVC line was not angled correctly which caused the draining water to stagnate eventually flowing back towards the unit creating the leak. I naively trusted them, his two sons and Mr. Maldonado (Sr.), when they told me it would be an extensive and costly job quoting me at $1,300. This was in May 2021 after the freeze when plumbing supplies were still scarce and plumbers had full schedules, so I wanted to be understanding that maybe PVC was more expensive than usual. I truly didn't even think of shopping around because 1) they seemed trustworthy and 2) I really needed it fixed because my ceiling already had extensive water damage. Fast forward to today (or rather three days ago), I needed to get my A/C looked at again because it was not cooling the house. I met a wonderful repairman, he did a great job by the way, whom after I mentioned the expense I had made to repair the drain line said was extremely overpriced. At this point I realized that I had not inspected the job and hadn't been up in the attic since before Maldonado came to replace the PVC so when I looked up there I was so infuriated because there was no difference to the way the line was setup prior to them performing "the job". It was no more than maybe 15 ft of PVC that was replaced with a couple of joints. To add insult to injury, I was left with a hole in one of the bedroom walls that they "had to make" which I have to repair out of pocket. I am so disappointed, more so with myself for trusting, that there are people out there who have a business in a trade that is so needed by homeowners whose business is really taking advantage of people and taking their money. I am a disabled veteran, at the time wasn't working and had only been back to Laredo for 3 months. Mr. Maldonado and his sons knew this and that I was tight with money but didn't even search their heart (though, I don't believe they have one) to do the right thing. Instead, his entire family, because he brought the cavalry with him (Maldonado Senior, his two sons, and four teenagers who were his grandkids), think it's ethically okay to rip people off. Don't use this company!!!!

The owner of this Company & his son were very un professional. The company is a contractor for American Home Shield. They filed an invoice with status of completed but never performed the scope of work and he has been avoiding calls from my Warranty Company Representatives. Since 11/23/21 work is still not completed and sent us a text message telling us qe needed to look for another contractor. Mr. Maldondo is collecting money from American Home Shield for work that is not being completed.

Mr. Maldonado was sent through American Home Shield to repair a leak which he found to be a slab leak. Once identified he should have called for authorization, yet he went onto opening holes on 4 different walls to find the other side of the water line leaking. Then reported to AHS as a pre-existing leak which was denied. The leak was found on the very morning I reported (yesterday), and as of today there's a huge water body running through the back of my house, which proves if the leak had been there before, we would have so much more water standing on the side of the house. He came with 3-4 other guys who did nothing nor did any of them offered a solution to the problem. Mr. Maldonado is a nice guy but I wouldn't recommend his plumbing services at all.

The older man and his sons are thieves. They’re contractors for American home shield and they are the reason I canceled the insurance. On two occasions they’ve tried ripping me off saying that they need to charge me $500 extra to fix a leak. They know what American home shield will cover and what they don’t cover so they will try to make money from you. Stay away from them

This company was sent out by my mother-in-law's insurance company American Home Shield. We rent a room at my mother-in-law's house with it's own restroom which they were replacing with a new toilet. Apart from calling very early and informing my mother-in-law that they would be coming at 9AM and not asking her what time was a good time for her, they took the toilet out and left a mess behind. They did not use any plastic wraps or garbage bags or at least make sure the toilet wasn't going to leak everywhere before they dragged it out, and they left a huge puddle of water on our bedroom carpet floor that they were not planning on and did not clean up. I mentioned to the older man "E. Maldonado" how they made a mess, and his response was, "eso paso." As in, toilets have water. I understand that, but they could have at least let me know ahead of time they were planning on not controlling the water droppings in the house so I could put some garbage bags down or something, as that water was smelly, and left a bit of a stink afterwards. On top of that, my mother-in-law informed me that the one who changed her bathroom toilet was in a bad mood, and unplugged her wax candle and spilled it all over the place and did not clean it up either. These men were extremely unprofessional, and inconsiderate to our home belongings.
