C.D. Shanahan's Heating, Cooling & Plumbing LLC

My 40-gallon A.O. Smith water heater died after 18 years of good service. I was not surprised it finally went down, but the timing was very unfortunate as I had tested positive for COVID earlier that week. I asked my son, who did not have COVID, to meet and deal with the technicians if they came to the house. I am very happy called C.D. Shanahan’s Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing, LLC. after consultations with three other companies. The first call was to a local company with good Yelp ratings, who answered the phone with simply a “Hello.” I had to ask if I was calling the right number. When he confirmed that I was, he told me very abruptly that I needed to replace the heater. I knew this was true, but he was not very courteous nor professional in his exchange with me, and I decided not to hire him. The second call was to a large regional company, who came out, charged me $50 and quoted me a replacement price that seemed exorbitantly high for the job. The third company I called balked when one of the technicians did not want to visit a house with someone who had COVID, which seemed reasonable. I sent them photos and they quoted me a price that was half that of the regional company, but when I followed up their email with questions regarding the brand of water tank, time it would take, and when they could start, etc., they did not respond at all. When I called C.D. Shanahan’s, Dillon was very professional and courteous. I explained that I had COVID but I could send photos to them for an estimate. I also told them that my son, who did not have COVID, would be on site to greet the crew and show them the location in the basement with its own exit, and that I would be on another floor, away from the crew. Dillon informed me that they use Bradford White tanks (one of the most reliable brands according to my preliminary research) and they told me how long the job would take, and they gave me a 3-hour window for a start time. When I explained that my son had to attend a job-related meeting at 5 p.m., Shanahan’s sent a tech an hour earlier than the quoted time. Two technicians, Kevin and Joseph, completed the job in two hours, and I had hot water within minutes. I am very happy with the results, and I especially appreciate the professionalism, courtesy, responsiveness, accommodation, and respect displayed by this company. Connor was quick and responsive to quote and schedule installation, as well as transparent when discussing options and recommendations. The install team was prompt, professional, and thorough, even walking us through all of the steps and how to operate new system. A friendly and professional company with service above expectations. Very impressed! The customer service is great. They text when they are coming, send a pic and give you a quote upfront. The service technician we had was named Elijah and he stuck around to make sure the system was working and problem solved until our heater was back online. I will 100% use these guys again and highly recommend them!

Connor and the C.D. Shanahan team did a wonderful job replacing and upgrading our team water heater system! What I really appreciated the most was how easy it was to communicate with Connor, and get a quote through pictures and texts! Also when we had a slight issue, we were able to easily get a hold of Connor and Brandon at night to get the issue quickly fixed!
