A-1 American responded quickly when my aging Heating/AC unit finally kicked the bucket! My service technician Mr. Jake Blackburn was Outstanding! Extremely knowledgeable and quickly got our new system installed and running. I had a Great experience with A-1 American and I would highly recommend them based on the quality service provided! Tub backed up while using the shower. Called A-1 American they said they could have somebody out in about a couple of hours. That couple of hours ended up being 1/2 an hour. John called and said he was on the way. I told him about dogs and he said he was not concerned in the least. My dogs took to him and his coworker like they were best buds. (I don't necessarily worry if you don't like my dogs...however, if my dogs don't like you, Thats a red flag for me...especially since my dogs love everyone) They arrived and assessed the issue, provided a quote and how they would accomplish the task. All questions asked were answered. Took about 20 minutes to get everything done. John and company cleaned up after themselves and all was right with the world again. I will definitely call A-1 American again. Thanks for being prompt and getting the problem fixed quick.

Our A-1 technician Nick did an awesome job in clearing our clogged drain. He was very professional and polite. He was very quick and neat in performing the job. He also performed several flushed on the drain to ensure that the clog was clear. We were more than satisfied with the quality of work we received. Awesome job.

I have a repetitive plumbing issue. Ray and Chris came to my house to camera my main sewer line. Thanks to them, I now know where my plumbing problem is located. They were able to fix the issue. I hired this company to replace a spigot (hose bibb) on the back of my house and insulate the pipe. During the initial estimate, they made it seem like the job would involve significantly more work, which helped me justify the high price they quoted. However, in the end, the technician only replaced the spigot, added insulation, and spent a total of one hour on the job. The final bill came to an outrageous $911.55. When I asked for a detailed breakdown of parts and labor costs, they refused, which is deeply concerning and lacks transparency. For reference: • Spigots typically cost $14–$150. • Pipe insulation is around $10. • Copper pipe costs $2.10 per foot. • Labor for this type of work usually ranges from $70–$120 per hour. Their misleading estimate and refusal to provide a cost breakdown suggest they prioritize profits over customer trust. I feel completely taken advantage of—especially as a woman homeowner. I strongly advise others to request detailed estimates upfront and GET A SECOND OPINION. And check all of the reviews good and bad on google and Facebook. They speak for themselves. Also look at A-1’s review average on Google, it is 3.8 out of 5 stars with 687 reviews as of today. Google “plumber in Virginia Beach” and look at the first 10. The average review scores are 4.9,4.8,4.7 etc with thousands of reviews. I wonder why?

John S and Zach came and repaired my bathroom plumbing issues about a month ago and did an amazing job! Zach had been to my home to fix a previous issue which is why I used this company's service a second time. John and Zach were professional, timely and efficient.
